Description

rocky’s matcha Okumidori Matcha is an organic, single cultivar matcha sourced and produced in partnership with Sugimoto Tea Company. The harvest is solely comprised of first harvest leaves from a single farm in Kagoshima, Japan. The leaves are delicately shaded–exposed to less direct sunlight–for over a week at a high elevation. This process results in a uniquely tender leaf that boasts a vibrant green hue and robust umami profile throughout each sip.  Its freshness makes it ideal for enjoying throughout the springtime. 

Okumidori Matcha is most recognized for its lighter roast and nutty taste profile. This marks our first matcha with Sugimoto, a family run tea company that has been producing matcha since 1946.

    Delicious!

    So glad that I was able to finally try at least one of the offerings at Rocky’s Matcha! The aroma is divine! No bitterness at all (imo). I’m hoping to try many more when they become available.

    Great balance of bitter and umami. Not at all “grassy” which is a huge plus. It has a more mild flavor, so in lattes its not as punchy, so you may find yourself using a bit more to cut through the milk. Overal a great starting place for beginners to matcha.

    Despite sifting the matcha multiple time, it would end up clumpy in my drink. Very disappointing because i was looking forward to to this new release :/

    Light and fragrant, recommend usucha style!

    This is a light bodied matcha and I strongly recommend drinking it usucha to appreciate the nuances! Such a beautiful green color and pleasant daily drinker.
