Description

rocky's matcha is thrilled to offer our signature blend of houjicha from award winning producer, Mr. Kiyoharu Tsuji. Houjicha, sometimes spelled as "hojicha" is a roasted green tea that contains less caffeine than sencha or matcha.

Our signature houjicha uses stems and leaves from Tsujiki's tencha and is slow roasted at a relatively low temperature to preserve the flavor and taste of the tea.

    Perfect amount of roasty bitterness in this houjicha. Stands up well to milk in a latte. Ive been adding equal parts coca powder and making a “roasted chocolate milk”, they pair well together for a nightime treat that wont keep you up too late.

    So delicious!!!

    This was my first time trying Houjicha powder and I'm obsessed. The flavor is nutty, chocolaty and earthy. It whisks up super easy and has a bit of a natural sweetness. A perfect alternative for matcha if you don't want much caffeine.

    A must try!

    I had to try this matcha when it was released and I was pleasantly surprised by it. Very earthy but in a great way. Definitely a great matcha for fall and winter. I wanted to pair it with some chocolate but never had any around! Really like it.
