rocky's matcha is honored to offer an exclusive Asahiyaki for rocky's matcha Chawan, a collaboration with one of Japan's oldest ceramic kilns.
This limited-edition chawan brings together two glazes: the soft tone of Geppaku, Asahiyaki's signature glaze, which emerges naturally from rice straw ash, and a deep cobalt, created with cobalt oxide, inspired by rocky's matcha's signature hue. Within the kiln, the two meet and intermingle, creating patterns and landscapes unique to each bowl. No two are ever alike.
For more than four centuries, Asahiyaki has embraced the quiet beauty of natural glazes. Here, that tradition enters into dialogue with a contemporary shade of blue, inviting us to discover reflections of sky, water, and sea in every piece. Formed from clay gathered in Uji, the birthplace of Japanese matcha, the bowl brings together the earth of Uji and the creative spirit of Los Angeles within a single vessel.
