rocky’s matcha Blue Tea Canister 250g

Our rocky’s matcha Tea Canister 250g is a one-of-a-kind handcrafted tin wrapped in Japanese kozo washi paper. Washi artisans in the Fukui Prefecture of Japan handmade and hand-printed the washi using the traditional Japanese Kyo-Yuzen dyeing technique. The tin was handcrafted at Kato Seisakusho, a company with over 130 years of history in manufacturing tea canisters.

The Kyo-Yuzen washi design features motifs seamlessly depicted across the surface and lid of the canister. The pigments used were custom mixed to achieve these exquisite expressions of colors. These tea canister designs are pigment-dyed washi embellished with silver pearl pigment motifs. To achieve the metallic effect of the blue washi tea canister, pearl resin was hand blended with a blue pigment.

The 89-year-old master artisan at Kato Seisakusho, who crafted this tin, brought his lifelong dedication to the process. The dimensions of the tin's inner and outer lid are measured to the nearest 0.1mm, minimizing the gap between the lid and body of the tin. This masterfully constructed tin has a moisture reduction rate of 96-98%, keeping tea fresh for longer.
